About Self-Testing
Self-Testing features can be accessed using the buttons on the green Self-Testing menu. You must log on so that the system can keep track of your answers. You may access the Self-Testing features from any computer, at work or at home.

Logging on for the first time

- Click
on the green Self-Testing menu.

- Under the heading "First time logging on?" enter your first name, last name and e-mail address, then click
to create a user profile.
- Fill out the registration form then click Register.
An e-mail asking you to validate your registration will be sent to the e-mail address you provided to register.
- Go to your e-mail inbox and open the registration e-mail.
- Click the link provided in the registration e-mail.
OR
Copy that link and paste it into the address bar of your internet browser.
The Child Care Setting page will appear and display a message confirming your registration. You will be logged on automatically.

- Click any room on the left menu or the floor plan to go to a location containing self-test questions.
Logging on
- Click
on the green Self-Testing menu.
OR
Click
on any page on the website where it appears. 
- Under the heading "Already registered?" enter your e-mail address.
- Enter your password.
- Click Log on.
Recovering a forgotten password
- Click
on the Self-Testing menu.
OR
Click
on any page on the website where it appears.
- Under the heading "Already registered?" enter your e-mail address.
- Click I forgot my password.
The following window will appear:

- If it is not already displayed, enter the e-mail address you use to log on.
- Click Send.
Your password will be sent to your e-mail address.
The green Self-Testing menu
When you are logged on, two extra buttons appear on the green Self-Testing menu located in the upper right corner of the page: My profile and Report; and the Log on button becomes Log off.

About
Provides information about how to use Self-Testing features.
Log off
Disconnects you from Self-Testing mode. You will then have to log on again to resume answering self-test questions.
My profile
Allows you to access your profile page where you can change any information in your profile.
Report
Allows you to view, print and e-mail your Self-Testing Report.
The Report button is only displayed after you have completed all the self-test questions for at least one topic.
Note: It is always a good idea to log off when you are finished doing self-testing, especially if you are sharing a computer with other users.
Answering self-test questions
Self-test questions are available on pages where the
button appears.
- After logging on, go to any room and click a topic whose page displays the
button.
- Click the
button.
A self-test question window will appear.
- Read the question and then select the appropriate answer(s).
- Click the forward arrow
(bottom left) to display the next question if applicable.
You must answer correctly to advance to the next question.
- You must answer all the questions in a topic for it to appear in your Self-Testing Report.
- When you have finished answering all questions for a topic, click
to save your answers and proceed to the next step.
The Finish window will appear with the following message:

- Click an option to continue.
- Click Continue Self-Testing to close the question window on the page.
A checkmark will be displayed next to the
button indicating that all questions for that topic have been answered. You can then click another topic or room to continue answering self-test questions.
- Click View My Self-Testing Report to see a list of topics for which you have answered all self-test questions.
You can then print or e-mail your Self-Testing Report.
- Click Log Off Self-Testing to disconnect from Self-Testing mode.
You can continue viewing pages on the website or log on again if you want to resume answering self-test questions.
Types of questions
There are two types of self-test questions:
- Questions with a single right answer.
OR 
You can select only one answer at a time.
- Questions with multiple right answers.

You can select several answers then click Validate.
Question feedback
A feedback message is displayed after you have finished selecting your answer(s) for each question.

Means that all the answers selected are incorrect. Select other answers.

Means that some answers selected are correct and some are incorrect or not all of the correct answers have been selected. Change your selection.

Means that all the answers selected are correct.
Self-Testing Report

The Self-Testing Report displays all the topics for which you have answered all questions. It also displays your name and, if you provided it, the name of the childcare centre where you work. The Report button is only displayed after you have answered all the questions for at least one topic. You need to be logged on to see your report.
- To see your Self-Testing Report, click Report on the green Self-Testing menu.
OR
Click View My Self-Testing Report when prompted after completing self-test questions.
The Report page will appear with PDF and e-mail options.
- Click
to see a PDF version of your report.
You may then print or save the report.
- Click
to send the report to yourself or someone else in PDF format.
- If desired, click any topic on the Report page to see questions about that topic.
Retaking a self-test
If you have already answered all the questions on a topic, a checkmark will be displayed beside the
button. This check mark will be displayed only when you are logged on.
- To retake a self-test for a topic you have already completed, click
.
The Completed self-test window will appear with the following message: 
- Click an option to continue.
- Click Review the answers to see the correct answers.
The questions will appear with the answers already selected. You may view any question in any order you like by clicking on the question numbers (bottom right corner of the window) or the arrows (bottom left corner of the window).
- Click Take the test again to start answering the questions again.
Your previous answers will be erased and the first question will be displayed without the answer. You will have to answer all the questions again for the topic to appear in your Self-Testing Report.
