How to use this site
The Day Nurseries Act for Child Care Supervisors of Ontario website presents key licensing requirements for licensed, centre-based child care programs in Ontario using text, photos, videos and interactive graphics in a user-friendly format. It provides users with:- plain-language licensing requirements;
- rationale for legislated requirements;
- samples of good practices which could be incorporated into licensed child care programs.
The site is divided into several main sections which can be accessed by clicking on the horizontal tabs:
- Child care setting
- Checklists and sample forms
- Administration
- Prospective operators
- Alterations to existing programs
- Comments
- Links
The Child care setting tab presents a virtual child care centre. Select a room on the left (or click on any room on the floor map) to enter and explore the room and its features.

For each room, click on the icons (or on the highlighted areas in the room) to learn more about the licensing requirements for each item.
